A series of NEOM Volocopter air taxis were tested on Wednesday, June 21 in the northwestern region, making it a first for Saudi Arabia. This Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) was marked as a successful trial. The tests focused on climate conditions, environmental factors, and flight performance, an operation that proved to be safe and sustainable. Led by Volocopter – a pioneer of urban air mobility (UAM) – whose goal is to provide intelligence-led mobility as transport options for all.
This progress means commercial operations in NEOM and beyond, also making it a win for renewable solar and wind energy. Seeing as how NEOM is a forward-thinking city with developing futuristic innovations, it’s no wonder that the trial tests were launched here. The future of in-flight transport seems brighter than ever.
